This last week I have put many hours into the first version of an interactive prototype for the Lunch Money Buddy app I’m designing. I’m learning that apps are funny, as a user you don’t think much about them unless they don’t work as intended. On the other side, as a designer I am slowly overwhelmed at how many interactions go into an app and how many screens are necessary.
I have been thinking about art school as I’ve been doing this project. I have seen a few of my classmates apps they are also designing and after being so proud of what I had created I was definitely pushed down a few pegs. I’m the kid who hung up their drawing for critique while everyone else in the class has been drawing since before they were born… or at least that’s how I feel anyway. I’m surrounded by very smart and knowledgable people. I need to figure out a way to absorb all of this!
I’m excited to go through my app after it’s been critiqued and figure out how to make it better. I’ve never done anything like this before and before I started this program designing apps seemed impossible to me. Slow strides but I’m learning a lot.
