Week 1 – Recruitment Tools

When trying to recruit qualifying participants for research/testing on my own, I’ve often struggled to find enough people.  I always wondered how professional UX Designers and researchers were able to accomplish this and that appears to be by hiring a third party.  I checked out Ethnios and Mechanical Turk this week and Ethnios seemed to be the preferred tool to go with. I liked their user friendly interface and how simple it appeared to coordinate with participants.

By using a third party to do the heavy lifting of finding participants for a study means more time that I can devote to other things, such as the study itself.  This blog post is going to be a bit shorter than my others because I have a fever and frankly, cannot think very well right now.  That being said, Ethnios could do all the work of recruiting participants while I’m sick in bed.
